Dead Space is a survival horror third-person shooter video game and in my very own opinion darn good. To get the right atmosphere when playing this game I would recommend darkness and late at night.
The player takes on the role of an engineer named Isaac Clarke, who battles a polymorphic, virus-like, alien infestation which turns humans into grotesque alien monsters called "Necromorphs", on board an interstellar mining ship named the USG Ishimura.
If you like third-person shooter games and haven't tried this one, you missed something. A sequel, Dead Space 2, was released on January 25, 2011. But I would recommend you to play them in order.
